Free Ballistic Calculator
A full external ballistics solver with nothing behind a signup wall. Enter your bullet, velocity and conditions and read drop, wind drift, retained velocity, energy and time of flight.
Loads
Up to 4 loads share one chart and one table. Each keeps its own inputs.

Atmosphere
A station reading is used as entered. A sea-level reading is reduced to your altitude first, so do not subtract for altitude twice. Atmosphere guide.

Dimmed rows are below the speed of sound, where the point-mass model and published coefficients both get less trustworthy. Positive drop means the bullet is above your line of sight. Values are shown in imperial units — switch in the header.
What "free" means here
Most free ballistic calculators on the web are attached to a bullet maker, and they solve well for the bullets that maker sells. This one is not tied to a catalogue. Type any ballistic coefficient against any of the six standard drag models — G1, G2, G5, G6, G7 or G8 — and the solver integrates the real drag curve for the model you chose rather than approximating it back to G1.
Nothing is metered. You can run as many loads as you like, compare up to four of them on one chart and one table, print a range card and start again tomorrow without an email address. There is no advertising interruption, no modal asking you to subscribe before you see a result, and no export limit.
Privacy comes as part of it. The whole solve is JavaScript running on your machine: your loads, your zero and your saved profiles stay in your browser's local storage. Nothing about your rifle is uploaded, and clearing your browser data is all it takes to remove it.
If you want the same solver in a different frame, the ballistic calculator on the home page is the same workspace, the bullet trajectory calculator focuses on flight path, and the preset library loads a documented factory load in one tap.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this ballistic calculator really free?
- Yes. There is no account, no trial, no paid tier and no download. Every tool on the site — trajectory, kinetic energy, point blank range, recoil and the printable DOPE card — is open to anyone with a browser.
- Do I have to create an account to save a load?
- No. Saved rifle profiles, comparison loads and your unit preference are written to local storage in your own browser, so they survive a reload without ever being sent to a server. Copying the share link puts the load in the URL, which is the only way anything leaves your device — and only if you send it to somebody.
- Can I use it offline or on a phone at the range?
- The page is small and works on a phone. Once it has loaded, the solve itself runs entirely in the browser, so a weak signal at the range does not stop you recalculating. Print or save the DOPE card before you leave if you expect no coverage at all.
