Bullet Length Library

Overall bullet length is what a twist-rate stability calculation actually needs — weight alone will not tell you whether a barrel will spin a bullet fast enough. Filter by maker, diameter or name, then check gyroscopic stability against your twist.

Twist stability (Miller)

Pick a bullet in the table to check it.

Stability factor Sg

Under 1.0 is unstable, 1.0–1.4 marginal, 1.4 and above comfortably stable. Standard atmosphere; cold, dense air lowers Sg.

About these measurements

Lengths are published bullet dimensions collected from the length list maintained at JBM Ballistics, plus manufacturer figures. Production tolerances and lot changes move these numbers by a few thousandths, and plastic-tipped bullets vary most. Measure your own bullets with calipers before you rely on a marginal stability result.
